Who we are

Deutsch-Klub is a student German-language club. Contact for anything about your data: MKULKOV@constructor.university.

What we store

When you sign up: your full name, e-mail address, the level you choose, and a 12-digit ID that we generate. When you use the app: your placement-test answers and result, your goal, interests, daily minutes and exam date (if you give them), finished lessons, your flashcards and every review you do. We also keep your two notification choices.

Why

To give you an account, to show you your own progress and to organise the club. We do not sell data, show ads or build advertising profiles. There are no public profiles, rankings or chat: nobody else sees your learning data.

Who handles it

Hosting: Vercel. Database: Neon (PostgreSQL). Club organisers keep a Google Sheet with the sign-up list (ID, name, e-mail, level, your choices); only the organisers can open it. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

Cookies and your ID

One cookie keeps you logged in for up to one year; it is needed for the site to work. For rate limiting we keep a salted hash of your IP address, never the address itself. Your 12-digit ID works like a password: whoever knows it can log in as you, so do not share it.

Your rights

Under “My data” in your account you can see everything we store, download it as a file and delete your account. Deleting removes your account, test results, lesson progress, cards and reviews from our database for good. If your name and e-mail are still in the organisers’ Sheet, write to the contact above and we remove them. You can also ask us for correction or complain to your data-protection authority.

Retention

We keep your data until you delete your account.
